Are you a Drupal developer looking to benchmark your expertise, or an agency mapping out your team's growth? Today, we are launching the Ramsalt Drupal Assessment, a free, personalized testing tool designed to evaluate your knowledge, highlight your strengths, and guide your next learning steps in the Drupal ecosystem.
Drupal is a big ecosystem, and it's genuinely hard to know how your skills stack up. Maybe you're sizing yourself up against the market, or maybe you're a site builder wondering if it's time to go deeper into custom module work, or maybe you're running an agency and trying to figure out where to focus your team's growth.
We see this all the time. Our developers work across large, complex Drupal websites. The gap between "I can build a page" and "I can architect a maintainable Drupal platform" is wide, and it's not an easy thing to measure on your own. So we built a tool to make that measurement concrete, and to give something useful back to the community we build on top of.
At Ramsalt, Drupal isn't just one of the technologies we work with; it's at the core of what we do. The assessment was built by one of our senior developers, Jessica Denkelaar, and draws on the practical knowledge our developers rely on every day and the skills we look for as our own team grows.
You start by picking the track that matches your role:

From there, you work through a set of scenario-based multiple-choice questions that tests your practical Drupal knowledge. Each track focuses on a different area of Drupal: the frontend track covers theming, Twig, CSS, and JavaScript; the backend track covers services, APIs, and custom development; and the sitebuilder track focuses on content modelling, Views, and Layout Builder.
At the end of the test, you'll get an overall skill level, from someone just starting out through to senior, along with a description of what that level actually looks like in practice.
You'll also get a specialization breakdown showing where your strengths lie, plus recommendations for external learning resources based on the areas where there's room to grow.
It just takes a couple of minutes to complete, and you'll get your results immediately.

Whether you're just starting out or you've been working with Drupal for years, we hope you find it useful. Try it, share it with a colleague, and let us know what you think.
If you're evaluating a Drupal partner, technical expertise matters. The best Drupal teams don't just know how to configure a site. They understand Drupal's architecture and build solutions that stay maintainable as projects grow. The topics covered in the assessment reflect the knowledge and best practices our developers apply every day, from APIs and dependency injection to content architecture, accessibility, and frontend development.
Most AI writing tools live in another browser tab. You copy text out, write a prompt, copy the answer back and fix the formatting. We wanted to get rid of that loop for people who write in Drupal. Gutenberg AI is the product we are building to fix that. It brings AI into the Gutenberg block editor, right next to the content it works on.
The public sector is overflowing with knowledge – from reports to evaluations. The challenge has long been to find this information in the sea of PDFs. Ramsalt has been central to the development of Kudos – a national knowledge portal. By implementing groundbreaking AI-based document analysis, we have helped turn a chaotic document base into a goldmine of searchable insight.
Ramsalt’s Client Resource Manager, Nina Holzapfel, will speak at DrupalCon 2025 about how to manage scope creep and keep projects on track. With years of experience leading Drupal projects and keeping clients happy, she shares practical insights for teams who want smoother delivery and stronger results. In this interview, Nina explains why this topic matters and what attendees can expect from her session.
